A New Chapter at The Trellis House

The Trellis House has long been a treasured part of Ogunquit, thanks to the passion, creativity, and care of its previous owners, Laurence Plotkin and Glen Porter. Over nearly a decade, they transformed the property into a beloved destination known for its warmth, beauty, and exceptional hospitality. I’m honored to continue what they so thoughtfully built.

My name is Gerard Kiladjian, and my wife Annie and I are thrilled to be the new stewards of The Trellis House and The Blue Shutters Inn and Studios next door. Over the course of my career, I’ve had the privilege of working in leadership roles at a number of acclaimed boutique hotels and resorts, including Deerhurst Resort in Ontario, The Cliff House in York, The Inn at Diamond Cove, and the Portland Harbor Hotel. Today, through my company, Principal Hospitality Group, I own and operate The Federal, a 30-room boutique hotel in Brunswick, along with its acclaimed restaurant, 555 North. The Trellis House and The Blue Shutters Inn and Studios are the newest additions to our growing collection of distinctive properties.

While this begins a new chapter, you can expect the same Trellis House experience you’ve come to know and love. The friendly faces you’ve grown accustomed to will still be here, and all of the thoughtful touches and services that make this place so special remain at the heart of everything we do.
