About Us

Your hosts Laurence Plotkin, Glen Porter, and Bentley

Laurence was raised in Fairfield, Connecticut and graduated from The University of New Hampshire with a degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management. He then moved to Los Angeles and worked for The Four Season’s Hotel in Beverly Hills while getting his degree in Business Administration from California State University, Los Angeles. He transitioned into staffing, human resources and recruitment at Warner Bros., The Walt Disney Company, and Digital Domain. Moving back to New England in 2005 to be nearer to family, Laurence spent the next 10 years as Vice President of Global Employment at Nuance Communications, a speech recognition software company in Boston.

Glen grew up in Massachusetts and went to Colby College here in Maine where he studied Theater and Economics. He then moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting, finding success in theater and commercials. Glen continued his career teaching and directing Theater at Campbell Hall, a private K-12 school in Studio City, California.

Laurence and Glen met in Los Angeles in 1996 and have spent many years happily building their life together which has included buying and renovating many properties in California, Florida, Maine and Massachusetts. Laurence and Glen currently reside in Ogunquit, Maine and Fort Lauderdale, Florida. They have put their heart into renovating and thoughtfully preparing The Trellis House for a Spring 2015 opening.

Bentley was born in Maine in 2014 and spent his puppyhood in Massachusetts. He graduated from crate training early and moved back to Maine to join The Trellis House when we opened in 2015. Bentley doesn’t shed and is hypo-allergenic. He loves long walks on the beach, licking faces, sitting on the front porch and hanging out with guests at The Trellis House. Our guests tell us he is one of the cutest, sweetest and most gentle dogs they have ever met.
